Make Ulefoss a base for a slow-paced art trip through Nome and Midt-Telemark. Former industrial buildings, rural museums and small galleries make a rewarding itinerary across several days.
Visit Bø’s published overview currently describes summer 2026. Exhibitors, dates and opening hours for the next season have not been confirmed; check each venue before making plans.

A route through Ulefoss, Gvarv and Bø
Start at Øvre Verket in Ulefoss, a preserved former workers’ neighbourhood associated with Ulefos Jernværk. Its historic setting is part of the experience, but the archive photo below does not show this year’s exhibition. You could pair it with Ulefos Hovedgaard nearby.
For another day, travel towards Gvarv for Evju Bygdetun and Galleri Nyhuus, then continue to Bø museum and Bø Prestegard. Hørte Dampfarveri is another former industrial building used for culture and exhibitions. These are possible stops, not a promise that each will host an exhibition on your travel dates.
Plan your cultural stay
Check the current programme and opening hours directly with each venue; small sites may open only on selected days. Allow time for cafés, historic surroundings and a Telemark Canal outing instead of trying to see every stop in a single afternoon.
Telemark Guesthouse is in Ulefoss, convenient for Øvre Verket and day trips towards Bø and Gvarv. A group of up to 15 can share one base while visiting several places over two or more days.
